Middle School Halloween Costume Guidelines
Any costume worn to school on October 31st must be appropriate for school in design and content.  Costumes may not leave anyone in any state of undress, advertise drugs or alcohol, display profanity, or be sexually explicit in nature.  Also, any costumes worn to school must be respectful of all people in the school community, which means that no costumes supporting prejudice against any students or staff members will be permitted.  Any costume that does not pass muster for school purposes will require immediate correction and possibly result in disciplinary consequences.

When selecting costumes, students should keep in mind the following: MS

  • This is not a dress down day.  You MUST be in an actual costume.

  • No bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, hoverboards, or other modes of transportation will be permitted in the building.

  • No weapons of any kind, fake or otherwise.

  • Faces may NOT be covered. This includes masks or paint.  Staff must be able to identify students.

  • Minimal makeup or hair coloring is permitted, however, it should be applied at home.  These items are not permitted in school.

  • Please avoid costumes that are overly scary, including any variance of a clown costume or costumes with blood.

If you have any questions regarding the appropriateness of a particular costume idea, please do not hesitate to ask or call Middle School Administration.
